| The Rally | ||
| visitors will be abe to see demo's of farming practices from the 1930's and earlier. There will be a threshing rig and a racksaw bench both driven by traction engines, with a binder cutting wheat for the thresher. Heavy horses will be ploughing and working ground as will vintage and classic tractors.Ring events include a Tae-quondo display at 1.30 on sat. only, whilst on both days there will be a display by the South Hams dog agility group at 12.00 and later, Anne Williams will demonstate that the heavy horse did not have a monopoly on field working with her display of working Dartmoor ponies. There are over 100 tractors entered, along with stationary engines, military vehicles, Cars and commercial vehicles, not forgetting a large number of motorcycles. There's a large craft tent, the all important Beer tent, and around 40 trade stands entered.. Dont forget we do cater for the disabled,with a floor level toilet also suitable for wheelchairs, and if you ask on the gate disabled people can park next to the main ring.Car park is free and the entry a very modest £4 for Adults and £1 for kids |

| Rally preparations | ||
| The organising of thr 2006 Rally is well under way, albeit with a few problems. The Committee has attended a health and safety course and had a risk assessment done in conjunction with WHS health and safety practitioneers. The results were largely in line with previous years requirements although a nunber of thing needed altering slightly. It has been decided that no horses or horse-drawn vehicles will allowed in the tented area of the site, only in the working area. All working exhibits will be behind orange safety netting or wire netting rather than ropes, and the public will no longer be able to mingle with working tractors in the working area. There are many other small detailed points which we hope will not spoil your enjoyment of the Rally, after all , we run the rally for your and our enjoyment. Hope to see you there !! |
